- Where do Bohemian Highway Travel Co. tours begin and end?
Our excursions can start and end almost anywhere in the Bay Area. We will arrange to pick you up from wherever you’re staying and will return you back to your preferred location at the end of your day’s outing.
Pricing for transportation begins when your host leaves our HQ in downtown Sonoma prior to pick up, and ends when your host returns back to HQ after drop off. Please note that your 6.5 hours of transportation is included within your package. We charge $95 per hour ($62.50 per half hour) for any time added over a 6.5 hour period.
- Will there be other people on our excursion?
All of our tours are private. We believe that wine country is best experienced with your own intimate group of friends, colleagues or just a couple, and based on your own unique wine preferences.
- Is the driver/host gratuity included in my package price?
Gratuity is not included and at the discretion of our guests. Our hosts take great pride in making sure our guests have the best tour experience possible. If we can enhance your experience in any way, please do let us know.
- Are reservations required?
Yes – all of our offerings are private and require prior reservations. Please give us as much advance notice as possible in order to secure your private tastings, tours, and adventures.
- How are tastings, tours, and restaurant reservations secured for our tour?
Bohemian Highway’s concierge will make all reservations on your behalf. We love to have as much context as to your preferences as possible, and welcome all information as we plan your day.
- What is the dress code for our wine tour?
Our tours are casual in nature, and the main goal is a relaxing day, so comfort is key. Often times there will be walks within the vines, but no special footwear is required for this. Layers is a good idea as the coastal fog can sometimes roll in. We recommend a hat and sunglasses as many of our experiences are outside.
- Can we purchase cases of wine and/or alcohol during the excursions?
Absolutely. Most wineries also offer shipping to almost anywhere in the country. Our hosts will also keep any purchases for you safely in our vehicles, with appropriate climate control. We work exclusively with small lot wine producers who take great pride in their craft, and love when our guests connect with their experience, it means we’ve done our job!
- Can we drink alcohol in the vehicles?
Yes. Bohemian Highway Travel Co. is a fully licensed tour company in the state of California, and all of our drivers and vehicles hold valid California TCP licenses. A TCP-licensed vehicle permits responsible alcohol consumption by the passengers (strictly for over 21 years of age only). Please note that we’ll need to see proof of age (21 and older) before any excursion begins. TCP# 0037446-B
- What happens if it rains?
Our outings operate rain or shine. Rainfall during California’s warmer months (May to October) is generally temporary and short-lived. In the case of extreme weather, Bohemian Highway Travel Co. reserves the right to modify, shorten, or cancel any tour to prevent damage to vehicles or avoid unsafe conditions. Full refunds, or the option to re-book, will be provided if we’re unable to run an excursion due to bad weather.
- Do you have A/C or heating in your vehicles?
All of our vehicles have A/C and heating for ultimate comfort, as well as top of the line safety features, and phone chargers. On chilly days we will pack a blanket for you to use in the cars or within your wine tastings.
- Do your vehicles have seat belts?
Yes, all of our excursion vehicles are registered by the California DMV and adhere to all safety standards.
- How many guests do your vehicles accommodate?
Our new Land Rover Defender 110’s can accommodate a group of up to 4 people. We also have a sprinter van which can accommodate a group of 8. If your group exceeds that number, please contact us to make other suitable arrangements, we have relationships with transportation companies who provide our clients a discounted rate.
- Can you accommodate group tours, team-building events, or executive retreats?
Yes on all counts. We have extensive experience with groups and offsite events - not only wine tours, but vineyard dinners, distillery tours, cooking classes, mindfulness and hiking excursions and more. Please email us to get our corporate brochure and sample offerings.
- I’ve booked a tour and need to reschedule or cancel, what do I do?
At time of booking you will be charged a 20% non-refundable deposit (administrative fee) of your anticipated charges, this allows us to begin curating your appointments and reserve your vehicle and host for the day. All cancellations or reschedules must be made within 14 days of your tour. We know this can be tough, but our team needs enough time to communicate with many different sources already committed. Refunds and reschedules are permitted, minus the non-refundable deposit, with a minimum of 14 days notice.
Bohemian Highway Travel Co. charges the full fare for no-shows or cancellations made within the 14 days of a scheduled tour. Keep in mind we've committed to many services all coming together for this experience on your behalf.
